A classic, an undeniable favorite- and rightly so. Chocolate cookies paired with a freshly brewed cup of coffee. If this doesn’t make you happy, nothing can.
The chocolate lovers in our Team rejoiced. While nothing beats the aroma and mouthfeel of a warm center-filled cookie, we were ready to satiate our tastebuds with packaged chocolate-filled cookies. Chocolate Filled Cookies – Detailed Review
The following section lists our detailed experience with each contender. Their pros, cons and more are discussed below –
1. Sunfeast Dark Fantasy Choco Fills – Mishry Top Pick
Sunfeast, without a doubt, is the best tasting chocolate filled cookie. The sweetness of the filling and the cookie were in sync and balanced. The buttery (not greasy), crisp cookie with a luscious chocolate filling is what we were looking for and that’s what we got. We also liked how beautiful the consistency of the chocolate filling was. It’s neither runny, not dense and clotted. The ratio of the creamy, almost velvety, centre and crisp cookie gets a big thumbs up from us!
Sunfeast Dark Fantasy Choco Fills had a premium-looking packaging. In a red-black-gold-toned carton, there were 24 individually wrapped cookies. The cookies were medium-sized and they looked well-baked.
Product Details
A 300-gram box holds 24 individually wrapped cookies. This is priced at Rs 170/- and has a shelf life of 6 months.
The main ingredients are sugar, refined palmolein oil, cocoa solids, emulsifier, lecithin (from soybean), nature-identical flavoring substances (chocolate and artificial flavoring substances- vanilla), refined wheat flour, hydrogenated vegetable oil, sugar, invert syrup, liquid glucose, raising agents (INS 503 (II), INS 500 (II), INS 450 (I)), cocoa solids, butter, milk solids, iodized salt, nature identical flavoring substances (chocolate), color (INS 150 C, INS 150 D), emulsifier (lecithin from soybean), and Di-glycerdies of fatty acids (from palm oil) and artificial flavoring substances (milk and vanilla).
2. Britannia Treat Burst Choco Fills Cookies
This was the only contender that featured a tray packing. No broken pieces and these cookies were medium in size. The texture was triple-layered. The cookie, a fudgy layer of chocolate and then a molten, smooth lava chocolate center with an appropriate consistency. The cookie had a slightly crumbly but crisp bite.
This cookie also tasted very good, and just like our winner, the sweetness was balanced. The chocolate flavor was inviting but had a slight bitterness right towards the end which would be appreciated when paired with plain milk or a unsweetened coffee.
This cookie comes in a close second to our Top Pick. The only reason it did not bag the top spot was due to the slight bitter aftertaste and texture of the cookie.

A 120-gram pack holds 12 cookies and is priced at Rs 40/-. The main ingredients include Dark choco fillings (38%) (Sugar, Refined palm oil, Cocoa solids, Emulsifier (322 (i)), iodized salt and artificial (vanillin) flavoring substances), Refined wheat flour, interesterified vegetable fat, sugar, liquid glucose, milk solid, invert sugar syrup, cocoa solid (0.9%), Butter, Edible maize starch, Raising agents (500 (ii), 503 (ii), 450 (i)), Emulsifier (471,322 (i)) Iodised salt, color (150d) and artificial (vanillin) flavoring substances.
3. Cadbury ChocoBakes
The cookies are individually wrapped in shiny purple wrappers and are further placed in a purple carton. Like the above contenders, these cookies were medium-sized too and had a fairly similar thickness.
The chocolate filling to cookie ratio was decent, not too much or too little. The cookie felt slightly overcooked as the bite was marginally dense. The filling was thick but smooth. The sweet milk chocolate filling reminds you of a Dairy Milk.
The only reason it did not win is because the overall cookie is dense in comparison to our Top Pick and is much sweeter.

A 150-gram pack holds 12 pieces. This is priced at Rs 70/-. The main ingredients are Choco filling (38%)* (Sugar, fractionated fat, cocoa solid, milk solids, cocoa butter, emulsifier (322), Artificial (vanilla and chocolate) flavoring substances, refined wheat flour, sugar, fractionated fat, invert sugar, cocoa solid raising agent (500 (ii), 503 (ii), 450 (i)), iodised salt, emulsifier (322), natural flavoring substances.
4. Unibic Choco Kiss Cookies
Like the other contenders, Unibic cookies were medium in size and individually wrapped. They were placed inside a carton. Compared to the above variants, these were relatively smaller in diameter but thicker. These cookies were oily to touch and had a slightly glossy appearance. The centre filling was smooth and flowy. This filling was added quite generously. The cookie was dense and had a buttery, greasy bite. Safe to say, Unibic had the largest quantity of chocolate filling.
Taste-wise, this was a decadent cookie. The sweetness was rounded and the chocolate flavor was apt. The only drawback was the slight oily aftertaste.

5. Parle Hide & Seek Milano Cocoa Rich Biscuit
Parle Milano had an attractive purple and gold carton packing and a similar wrapper. These had a deep brown appearance, almost dark chocolate-like. The cookie looked overbaked and was soft to chew. The chocolate filling was gooey and smooth. Here, the biscuit to filling ratio was unfavorable, the biscuit was more and the filling, less.
Like appearance, taste-wise too, the cookie had a bold dark chocolate flavor. The filling was made using milk chocolate, which was a slight relief from the taste of the cookie. The overall taste was decent but not decadent enough that you’d go back for seconds.
