Naagin Hot Sauces – Our Factors of Consideration
For our review, we tasted the Naagin Hot Sauces with multiple snacks like frozen veggie fingers, nachos, chicken fries, potato fries, and wedges over a few weeks.
We also added a tinge of it to a pack of instant masala noodles while cooking. This helped us gauge its versatility and usage.
Here are the parameters on which we gauged these sauces:
1. Flavor
When it came to flavor, we wanted to check various aspects of the hot sauce. Is the sauce well seasoned? How well rounded is the heat of the sauce? Is the chilli flavor unceasingly intense? Does the sauce provides some relief, or is it relentlessly spicy? Any other spices and aromatics that we could detect?
2. Heat Level
Are they actually ‘hot’? If yes, does the spiciness of the sauce do justice to the heat levels mentioned on the pack? Is there a significant difference between the heat levels of these sauces?
3. Consistency
The consistency of the sauce is important because it can help determine the end usage correctly. How thick or flowy is the consistency of the sauce? Is it too thin, of a dipping consistency, or too gloopy and gelatinous?
4. Colour
We gauged the color vibrancy of the hot sauce here.
5. Price
Are these sauces value for money? Is the pricing justified for the quality of hot sauce that is provided?

The Naagin Indian Hot Sauce (Bhoot) comes in a glass bottle. A 230 gm bottle of hot sauce is priced at Rs 250/-. The color of the sauce is almost like a burnt orange color.
Upon opening the bottle we got a strong, pungent smokey garlic and vinegar aroma. This smelled like chillies in a bottle! Just like the original one, the consistency of the sauce is thick.

Now coming to the tasting! The spiciness of the sauce kicks in as soon as you take a bite of the sauce along with a basic snack. It touches the tip of your tongue and continues to grow till you have finished the entire bite.
The first flavor note offers a playful mild sweetness which turns into a spice-loaded truck as you finish off the bite. The HOT ghost peppers showcase themselves brilliantly here. The notes of garlic, vinegar, and sugar, along with the light smokiness, are just marvellous.
Now, the burning hot question? Did we require a glass of milk for this hot sauce? Yes, some did. This sauce is not meant for people with low or medium chilli tolerance levels.
