Which Lay’s Flavors did we choose and why?
We picked all the Lay’s Chips Flavors In India that are available on online portals as well at local grocery stores. Only regular, all-season, Lay’s flavors were chosen for our review. None of the limited edition flavors were added to the list. We did not pick the Lay’s MAX chips for this review as they are a different segment altogether. The size of the pack was not a distinguishing factor.
Tasting Process
We tasted all the Lay’s Flavors by themselves throughout the day, giving an ample break in between the tasting sessions. We did so because tasting chips one after the other can get a tad bit overpowering on the palate.

Potato, Edible vegetable oil (Palm oil and rice bran oil), Sugar, Iodised salt, Spices and condiments, Lime juice powder (0.1%).
4. Flavor
The lime flavor is super throughout these chips. We could place these in the medium-spicy section. Even though these aren’t too masaledaar, it has a nice chilli-lime kick. The coating of the masala on the chips is very uneven. The places where the masala is concentrated is obviously more flavorful and has a nice, zingy lime flavor. Unlike some citrus-y chips, the lime flavor here is not industrial to taste. In fact, it is very fresh.
2. Taste Test – Lay’s Classic Salted

Definitely a classic that is crunchy and well seasoned. Due to the balanced salt levels, these classic salted chips can be a great option to be served with dips at a party or with rustic homemade burgers and sandwiches. If you’re not a fan of masaledaar chips, these are the ones for you!

We don’t know any spice loving Indian who doesn’t make googly eyes at an unopened pack of Lay’s India’s Magic Masala. This pack of chips delivers on the ‘masala’ promise, and the mild amchoor (dried mango powder) flavor comes through. These are spicy and not meant for people with a low chili tolerance. Addictive and lip-smacking!

The Spanish Tomato Tango Chip is true to its tomato flavor. Even in the first bite, you get the intensely sweet and tangy tomato flavor. The masala or seasoning has a lot of ketchup-like tanginess. These aren’t spicy at all and are meant for people who like tomato flavored chips. They would certainly appreciate these sweet and tangy chips.

4. Flavor
This flavor is for all cheese lovers! The aroma and taste are dominant on the cheese flavor. There is a bold onion flavor as well, which goes well with the salty cheese flavour. Like our masala chips, this Lay’s flavor is also very addictive. The mild herby punch and moderate seasoning make it a good accompaniment with a burger or a yogurt-based dip.

4. Flavor
These aren’t classic potato chips, but more like a packaged potato-based snack. The Lay’s Crispz has a very dominant onion flavor, and is not big on the herbs. We could see specs of parsley but couldn’t taste it at all. The flavor of these thin crisps tends to grow on you. Irrespective of how your 1st chip experience is, you keep on eating these. These Lay’s Crispz can provide a good change of pace from your regular namkeen or chips.
