1. Parmesan and Mediterranean Herbs

We began our review with the Parmesan and Mediterranean herbs variant. As we opened the pack, we observed that these are brown in color and have a thick square shape. These are coated with a white seasoning powder. There is a strong cheesy aroma.

Talking about the flavor, Parmesan cheese has a bold and nutty flavor which were showcased well in these chips. Mediterranean herbs is a mix of different herbs including sage, oregano, rosemary, parsley, cilantro and a few others.

These chips have a cheesy flavor combined with slight undertones of basil and rosemary. It has a balanced salt level.

2. Piri Piri 

The second flavor that we reviewed was the Piri-Piri pita chips. These are thick square shaped chips. Appearance-wise, these have a reddish color. There was a prominent aroma of piri-piri masala as we opened the pack. Texture-wise, these are the crunchiest chips.  

When someone says peri-peri, we instantly think chilli. This flavor was the best tasting among all the others. It has a bold and spicy piri-piri flavor. All the chips are coated well with the masala. The salt level is balanced and it has a garlicky after taste.

The tangy cheese flavor pita chips had an uneven coating of the masala. Some pita chips had puffed up well whereas others appeared to be flat. It has a tangy aroma. 

These are comparatively lower on crunch. Coming to taste. While the salt levels are balanced, the pita chips do not live upto the ‘tangy-cheesy’ claim. The flavor of cheese is too low and the tangy promise isn’t fulfilled either. The chips have a hint of sweetness.

4. Thai Sweet Chilli

Wingreens Appitas Thai Sweet Chilli variant had a mix of both square and rectangle shaped pita chips. When a product is labeled as ‘Thai sweet chilli’, we expect a sweet, slightly spicy and tangy end result. These chips nail the balance between sweet and spicy flavor and aroma. The crunch is superb and we have no complaints about the masala coating-chips ratio. The subtle garlicky notes are delicious.

Wingreens Appitas Jalapeno baked pita chips were from the older review. We could see a lot of broken pita chips. These chips nail the crunch. This variant has a subtle flavor of jalapeño that remains limited to the first bite. Post-that we could only taste the crispy dough. The punch of jalapeños we expected was missing in this variant.

The Sour Cream and Onion variant was also a part of the older review. On opening the pack, we observed that all the chips were well-coated with the masala. These chips have a balanced salt level. Overall, this variant had a dominant flavor of cheese which lends a delicious taste to these crunchy chips.

Our Top Picks & Recommendations

Among the six variants that we tasted from the range of Wingreens Appitas Baked Pita Chips, the Piri-Piri flavor was the best tasting. The Parmesan and Mediterranean Herbs variant stood at second position. Both of them do justice to the flavor tags and are crunchy. 

We also liked the Thai Sweet Chilli and Sour Cream & Onion flavor. However, the Tangy Cheese and Jalapeno variants failed to deliver the flavors they were aiming to achieve.
