Summary

Sunfeast Milkshake in Badam was a delight to review. The milkshake itself was smooth but the almond bits and melon seeds added an interesting bite. The balanced sweetness, fresh flavor, and convenient packaging all get a thumbs up.

Some have it alongside a serving of burgers and fries, others with fruits and protein. But there’s barely anything as soul-satisfying as a glass of thick, creamy milkshake.

We reviewed three variants of Sunfeast Milkshakes – Badam, Strawberry and Vanilla. During our Sunfeast Milkshakes review we set out to find if these are thick and creamy with a favorable balance of flavors.

Sunfeast Milkshakes – Detailed Review

All three variants were packed in PET bottles. With vibrant colors and eye-catching graphics, the brand claims to use ‘real’ ingredients. Let’s decode.

1. Badam

Price & Packaging

A 180-ml serving is offered in a PET bottle with a reclosable lid. It is priced at Rs 35/- and has a shelf life of 180 days.

Main Ingredients

Toned Milk (89.2%), Sugar, Badam Bits (0.5%), Melon Seeds Kernel Bits (0.4%), Emulsifiers (INS 471), Stabilizers (INS 418, INS 407), Iodized Salt, Acidity Regulator (INS 339 (iii) and Kesar (used as a natural ingredient) are all ingredients used in this milkshake.

All additives used in this milkshake are generally considered safe. While INS 471 is used as an anti-staling agent, INS 418 is produced by fermenting sugar, INS 407 is a thickener harvested from seaweed, and INS 339 ii is a thickener that doubles as a preservative.

The Badam variant had crunchy bits of nuts and seeds.

Flavor & Consistency

Visually, the milkshake has an appealing bright yellow hue. Some amber-colored specs were visible at the surface. These were the nut and seed bits that had absorbed the milkshake. However, we couldn’t see any saffron strands.

As the ingredient list mentioned the brand uses toned milk, the consistency backed this.

Surprisingly, this had a creamy mouthfeel. The almond bits and melon seeds lend a bite to this smooth beverage. We LIKED how these bits hadn’t turned soggy. They had a soft crunch and had absorbed the milkshake flavor really well. The sweetness is spot-on. The saffron flavor feels slightly artificial and lacks the sweet, floral taste.

Consistency- 4/5
Flavor- 3/5
  • This milkshake has a creamy mouthfeel.
  • Thumbs up for the sweetness. On point!
  • The nut and seed bits add a unique texture.
  • Flavor and aroma of saffron feel marginally industrial.

Sunfeast Badam Milkshake can make for a much healthier alternative to aerated beverages when you’re out and about.

Alternatively, if you’re looking for something satiating but not too filling, as a mid-meal snack, we’d recommend this milkshake.

2. Strawberry

Price & Packaging

Similar to the above variant, a 180 ml serving of this milkshake is packed in a PET bottle, priced at Rs 35/- with a 180-day shelf life.

Main Ingredients

Toned Milk (87.7%), Sugar, Strawberry Pulp (1%), Stabiliser (INS 407), Emulsifier (INS 471), Iodised Salt And Acidity Regulator [INS 339 (iii)]. The label mentions it contains permitted synthetic food colors and added flavors.

This had a toned milk-like consistency.

Flavor & Consistency

Smooth, flowy, and thick- this milkshake had a commendable consistency. Though the brand uses toned milk, the consistency was richer than that. They also mention the use of strawberry pulp which enhanced the consistency. The aroma has a synthetic undertone to it.

The primary flavor is sweet and the flavor of the fruit is not as intense. Fresh milk has been used, there were no sour/stale tastes. A remarkable aspect is that nothing felt artificial or industrial.

Consistency- 4/5
Flavor- 3/5
  • Full marks on packaging.
  • The ingredients are fresh.
  • All specifications regarding ingredients are listed.
  • Thumbs up on the consistency.
  • The strawberry flavor is on the milder side.
  • It has a synthetic aroma.

Missing the strawberry season? Need a fruity alternative for a post-workout snack? May we suggest Sunfeast Milkshake in Strawberry?

3. Vanilla

The price & packaging are the same as above.

Main Ingredients

Toned Milk (88.7%), Sugar, Emulsifier (INS 471), Stabiliser (INS 407), Acidity Regulator (INS 339 (iii)), Iodised Salt And Vanilla Extract (0.001%). Contains Permitted Synthetic Food Colours And Added Flavours.

This had a toned milk-like consistency.

Flavor & Consistency

This milkshake resembles the consistency of toned milk, as indicated by the ingredient list. That said, when compared to the above variant, it is relatively thinner. In terms of aroma, it emitted an intense but inviting aroma of vanilla. This was slightly industrial but not to the point where it was undesirable.

Taste-wise, this was quite sweet. The milk was fresh and creamy and the floral flavor of vanilla was refreshing. That said, if only the sweetness had been a little lower, we would label Vanilla our collective favorite.

Consistency- 4/5
Flavor- 3/5
  • This is an economically priced milkshake.
  • The packaging is convenient.
  • Aroma and flavors were fresh.
  • The consistency was adequate.
  • It only contains 0.001% vanilla extract which is fairly less.
  • May seem quite sweet.

Satiating and refreshing, if your sweet tolerance is on the higher side, this vanilla milkshake may make its way to your heart.
