Why is Maggi Nutri-Licious Atta Noodles our Top Pick?

Maggi Nutri-Licious Atta had an impressive amount of whole wheat flour used to make the noodles – at 85.3% this was amongst the highest.

The noodles – despite the low amount of refined flour – are not chewy or rubbery. These cooked well and had a good bite.

Flavor-wise, Maggi Nutri-Licious Atta was the tastiest. While maggie-lovers may not find this as ‘masaaledar’ as the standard Maggie Masala, this is pretty tasty too.

Our Review Process

If you have browsed through our Snacks selection, you will see that we take our snacks very seriously. And why not? It is the most important source nutrition when hunger strikes in-between meals.

Instant noodles are instant, processed snacks that come with their own flavor, taste, and convenience. While adding ‘atta’ to the ingredient-mix does not make the food ‘healthy’, it does make the product nutritionally better. As any rational person would know, these can never be healthy sources of everyday nutrition.

We believe that an occasional indulgence, when you follow an overall active lifestyle with a balanced meal plan, is absolutely alright. And so our review process this time aimed at finding the tastiest atta noodles; we were not looking for a ‘healthy’ atta noodles.

Is there something like a ‘healthy’ Instant Noodles?

If you ask us, no. There isn’t. It would be silly for anyone to believe that atta noodles are ‘healthy’. But, are they ‘healthier’? That’s a better question, we believe.

We know that a dish is only as good, or bad, as the ingredients it is made up of. When we change the composition of the ingredient-list, we change how tasty/healthy a dish becomes. In this case, when the amount of maida (refined flour) is replaced by whole wheat flour, it makes the dish better nutritionally, as compared to one that would use only refined flour.

4. Patanjali Atta Noodles Chatpata (Buy Now On Amazon)

Review Process – 4 different brand atta noodles is ready to eat.

2. How We Picked Our Brands

Presence and availability were the only two governing factors in the choice of brands. We reviewed all commonly available brands that do an ‘atta noodles’ variant.

3. Who Is It For?

Instant noodles are a snack that most people enjoy irrespective of their age. However, the difference between atta noodles and any other type of noodles is that they appear to have a higher nutritional value. This review is for those who wish to give their noodles a slightly healthier twist.

However, choosing nutrition doesn’t mean that you have to compromise with the taste, thus this review aims to provide you with a choice of product that has a balance of both taste and improved ingredient-list.

4. How We Tasted: Our Parameters

The tasting process for this competitive test was quite simple. We prepared each brand as per the instructions at the back of the packaging, and then we tasted them side by side before judging them on some fixed parameters.

The fixed parameters upon which we based our results are:

1. Nutritional Content

Atta noodles do have a better nutritional quotient as compared to regular, all-maida, noodles.

2. Taste

The taste is the final quotient and the ultimate equalizer for all of our competitive taste tests. As we were looking for a more balanced nutritious treat.

The Result

After tasting each and every brand, we judged them on their ingredients and taste. Yippee, which tasted quite good, was lacking behind in its nutrition label.

On the other hand, Patanjali, which was the top contender based on its wholesome ingredients, as it used rice bran oil, didn’t taste the best. Maggi, however, had that perfect balance of both taste and nutrition. Maggi uses the maximum amount of whole wheat as per the label. It cooked well and continued to have it’s a signature Maggi-taste.
