Quick Review Of Maggi Pazzta – Three Maggi Pasta Flavors
Price and packaging
This instant pasta has the official vibrant yellow color packet. There is a trivia given on the back of each pack that you can solve as the pasta cooks to up the fun element. Each pack contains 64-70 grams of pasta, including the tastemaker, and is priced at Rs 25/-.
How We Cooked The Maggi Pazzta
We read the instructions given on the back of the pack and followed them as it is. We made no modifications to the procedure given. We did not add any spices, condiments, or veggies of our own.
Taste Test – Maggi Pazzta Mushroom Penne
Ingredients and nutri label
100% semolina pasta. Tastemaker- Milk and Sugar blend, Maida, Salt, Cheese Powder (8%), Toasted Onion Flakes, Dehydrated Mushroom, Black Pepper Powder, Yeast. A 64 gram pack (single-serve) provides 223 Kcal of energy.
Dry Inspection
Even though the label says its ‘penne’, the shape of this pasta was definitely a hybrid between a ziti and rigatoni. The pasta has ridges along the sides. We could clearly see large chunks of dehydrated mushrooms, onion, and spring onion flakes in the tastemaker.
Taste Test
Before we could even taste this pasta, the aroma spread throughout the kitchen already and had us excited. A strong mushroom and cheesy aroma had enveloped the kitchen at the Mishry HQ. This instant pasta is perfectly seasoned. Plus, the addition of black pepper is a major game-changer. The cheesy-mushroom flavors of this Maggi Pasta are definitely bold and we liked this one.
Taste Test – Maggi Pazzta Cheesy Tomato Twist
Ingredients and nutrition label
100% semolina pasta. Tastemaker- Milk Solids and Sugar, Dehydrated Tomato Paste Solids, Iodised Salt, Mixed Spices, Dehydrated Green Bell Pepper, Potato Flakes, Oregano. A 64 gram pack (single-serve) provides 217 Kcal of energy.
Dry Inspection
This Maggi pasta flavor has a fusilli-shaped pasta. However, they looked very tiny when compared to the regular ones available in the market. The tastemaker had a dark orange shade, and we could see the dehydrated green bell pepper bits and some dried herbs too.
Taste Test
This pasta by Maggi is not spicy at all. The tomato tang you expect from a ‘red pasta sauce’ was too mild. Sadly, the tomatoes taste very industrial, and we did not like that at all. However, there was a significant taste of cheese. The green bell peppers rehydrated well and tasted nice. Even though the pasta was not spicy and could be a fairly decent option for kids who like red sauce, the depth of flavor of a tomato-based pasta sauce was completely missing.
Taste Test – Maggi Pazzta Cheese Macaroni
Ingredients
100% semolina pasta. Tastemaker- Milk solids and Sugar, Potato Flakes, Dehydrated Sweet Corn, Roasted Garlic, Oregano. A 64-gram pack (single-serve) provides 246 Kcal of energy.
Appearance
A classic like mac and cheese needs no introduction. This Maggi pasta in the cheese flavor had macaroni-shaped pasta, as the name suggests. The tastemaker had pieces of corn, some dehydrated herbs that included oregano, and spring onion greens.
Taste Test
The Maggi cheese macaroni instant pasta tasted delicious. It had the perfect texture and the creaminess you’d look for in a bowl of homemade mac n cheese. The savoriness you expect from a cheese sauce was present. The only thing that ruined the overall experience for us was the corn. The corn pieces in this Maggi pasta did not rehydrate well and lowered the overall experience of an otherwise tasty, cheesy bowl of pasta.
Taste Test – Maggi Pazzta Masala Penne
We reviewed the Maggi Pazzta Masala Penne earlier and liked it for its Indianised masala. Just like our Top Pick, the shape of the pasta is not penne (as labeled). The green peas rehydrated well and we liked this non-spicy bowl of instant pasta.
Conclusion
These Maggi Pasta are made using Italian recipes and premium quality ingredients. Each pack of this instant pasta contains one serving. Therefore, this is a ready-to-eat snack and not a full meal. However, Maggi Pasta does come in handy when you need a quick fix. What we liked about the Maggi pasta was the ratio of sauce of pasta. It wasn’t too saucy, nor was the pasta too dry. That being said, if you eat the pasta after it’s cold or pack it as a tiffin option, chances are the pasta might get very sticky. There was no doubt that the Mushroom Penne variant from Maggi pasta was everyone’s favorite after our taste test.
