Summary
A vegetarian frozen snack option that ditches the evergreen potato and opts for fresh, vibrant-looking veggies. While these are very crisp, the flavors need some mild adjustment.
The biggest plus point of frozen snacks is that they are pre-prepared and cut down on the preparation process. All they require is deep-frying or air-frying, and your snacks get ready in minimal time.
We picked this pack of Vegetable Cutlets by Keventer to test them for their flavor, texture, and overall convenience. Are these just convenient, or do they deliver on parameters like taste and texture?

Our Review Factors
What are we looking for? An appetizing vegetable loaded cutlet that crisps well on frying and is seasoned to perfection.
To review the Keventer Frozen Veg Cutlet, we set the following parameters –
1. Taste
The entire point of consuming a frozen snack is a combination of convenience and taste. If the product isn’t tasty, then what is the point of added convenience. Correct?
We gauged the overall freshness, flavor of the veggies, and the seasoning. Any industrial aftertaste observed?
2. Texture
We are expecting a super crisp outer layer with ample filling. The texture was examined for two aspects – the filling and outer layer. How crunchy are the vegetables stuffed inside? Is the ratio of the casing to the filling adequate?
3. Other Supporting Parameters
Convenience
This parameter is a sum up of the overall prep time involved and the cooking process. How long does it take to cook these cutlets? Does it require thawing before cooking?
The price and packaging were the other supporting factors recorded during our review process.

Keventer Frozen Veg Cutlet – Detailed Review
Price + Packaging
The 330 gm pack of these frozen veg cutlets by Keventer costs Rs. 145. There are approximately six pieces in our review pack (330 gm). It has a shelf life of 1 year. These cutlets come in red and white color pouch packaging.
Main Ingredients
The main ingredients are Vegetable mix (32.8% – carrot, green peas, sweet corn, onion, french beans), Water, Bread crumbs (Wheat flour, iodized salt, yeast, dextrose), Edible vegetable oil (palm oil), Corn flour, Rice flakes, and Rice batter (Stabiliser INS 466).
In addition to the above, it has – seasoning mix powder (Acidity regulator INS 330), Green chili paste (acidity regulator INS 260, Emulsifying and stabilizing agent INS 415), Preservative 211, Sugar, and turmeric.
Allergen Declaration: Contains Wheat.
Cooking Process + Highlights
These cutlets do not require thawing. As suggested on the pack, they must be consumed after proper cooking by deep-frying them.
We fried them in vegetable oil until they turned crisp and crunchy. During the process, we observed that the sides of the cutlets cooked faster. Hence, it is best to fry them on a medium flame.
If the flame is higher, the sides will darken quickly, leaving the center inside uncooked and cold.
Appearance
Visually, these are big-sized round-shaped cutlets with a medium thickness. These are not thick like your regular aloo tikkis but similar to a veg burger patty.
On the inside, the cutlets are yellow due to the presence of turmeric. All the vegetables have a vibrant look. The peas are plumped up and have a healthy green color.
Except for sweet corn, we could spot all the other vegetables (carrots, beans, peas, onions).
Aroma
We could whiff a dominant aroma of vegetables with some mixed masala which was quite enticing.
Taste
On the taste front, it delivers well-balanced flavors. These are seasoned with the right amount of spiciness and salt. Tastes delicious when paired with some ketchup on the side.
All the vegetables are fresh, naturally sweet, and super flavorful like they should be.
These have no potatoes and the freshness of the veggies is what holds it together. For those looking for a non-potato vegetarian snack, these could be a good choice.
The mix of masalas used can be mildly improved to make this more flavorful.
Texture
The outer layer had a desirable crispness that made us go back for more and more. The vegetables, specifically – carrots and beans, bring a nice crunchiness as we took a bite.
Pros
- Vibrant and crunchy vegetable
- Fresh and flavorful vegetables.
- Excellent, crisp texture
- Balanced salt and spices
Best Suited For
Be it unplanned house parties, or midnight cravings, these vegetable cutlets will make a quick snack for indulgence. It is an excellent snack that is not aloo dominant and a good pick for vegetarians.
