SUPERB!

Summary

The ITC Masterchef dahi kebabs are rich in flavor and texture. We loved the soft texture of the dahi kebabs. They tasted fresh and the curd wasn't sour after cooking. The dominant pepper flavor adds a spicy punch. These dahi kebabs taste surprisingly fresh!

While history indicates that the kebabs were first brought to India by the Mughal and Afghan invaders, vegetarian variations like paneer tikka, hariyali kebab, and even dahi kebab originated in India. Made using ingredients like hung curd and paneer, dahi kebab is delicately flavored and melt-in-your-mouth soft. ITC Masterchef frozen products have previously brought classic vegetarian kebabs like rajma galouti and hara bhara kebabs. We tried the ITC Masterchef Dilli Dahi Kebab for its taste and texture. Do they come close to the ones we usually eat at local food joints? Let’s find out more about ITC Masterchef Dilli Dahi Kebab Review.

ITC Masterchef Dahi Kebab – Detailed Review

Find out the detailed information of the ITC Masterchef Dahi Kebab Review here.

Packaging

The ITC Dahi Kebabs are packaged in a plastic tray. Like all-vegetarian  ITC frozen foods, these come in a black and green plastic pouch.

Price

A 210-gram pack of these frozen dahi kebabs contains approximately 15 pieces. These are priced at Rs 130/-.

Shape and size

These Masterchef kebabs are identical in shape and size. The thickness was consistent throughout the pack. The ITC Dahi Kebab is round in shape and we could see bits of fenugreek leaves.

How to cook

ITC Dahi Kebabs  – As mentioned in the pack, these kebabs can be cooked using the tawa cook method. It is recommended to cook the kebabs on a tawa with oil for 4 minutes and occasionally flip them.

ITC Masterchef Dahi Kebab are small and thick in shape.

How we made it?

At the Mishry HQ, we followed the instructions as given on the pack. We used a non-stick tawa and smeared some vegetable oil on the surface. Like most frozen food products, the ITC Dahi Kebabs too did not require thawing. We let the kebabs cook until they had a golden brown exterior. We observed the kebabs cook best on a medium flame.

Texture

For the time the kebabs were getting cooked, the test kitchen was filled with a lovely pepper aroma. These MasterChef Kebabs are not coated with bread crumbs and the texture is spot-on.

Taste

These frozen dahi kebabs are soft and almost melts in your mouth. The dominant pepper aroma and taste are pleasing but can get spicy for people with a very low tolerance for spice. Despite being a frozen food product, these kebabs tasted fresh. The curd in the kebabs tasted nice and wasn’t sour.

The Bottom Line

What really did it for us was that these frozen dahi kebabs need not be deep-fried and can be cooked with just a few tablespoons of oil. Not only are the ITC Masterchef Dahi Kebab seasoned well, but these are also easy to prepare. These vegetarian kebabs can be a great starter at a get-together or for a special celebration at home. Unlike most vegetarian frozen snacks in the Indian market which are usually made using potatoes, ITC Masterchef’s frozen food range with a variety of veggie kebabs can be a good option for a quick snack. Will you give these frozen dahi kebab a try?
