Summary

We appreciate the consistency in size and shape of these kebabs. The juiciness of the meat in the chicken kebab is extremely nice. The salt and pepper levels could have been a bit milder. The herbiness associated with Mediterranean food was missing.

Mediterranean flavors are big on herbs and spices like pepper, thyme, parsley, garlic, cumin, and coriander amongst many other aromatics. ITC’s Chicken Kebabs claim to be loaded with Mediterranean flavors, so we tried and tasted them to see if they delivered on the promise. Across all the ITC Master Chef Frozen Food products we have reviewed over the years, we have appreciated the consistency in the size of the snacks and the fresh flavors that a bag of frozen food packs.

Let us see how the ITC Master Chef Mediterranean Chicken Kebabs fare on our taste-o-meter. Here is our Quick Review.

Quick Review Of The ITC Master Chef Frozen Food – Mediterranean Chicken Kebabs

Price and packaging – A single pack of the ITC Master Chef Mediterranean Chicken Kebabs is priced at Rs 170/- and contains approximately 15 pieces. The chicken kebabs are packed in a plastic tray with separators that reduce the chances of the kebabs sticking to each other, which usually happens in the case of frozen food.

How to make it – According to the instructions given on the pack, the ITC Master Chef Mediterranean Chicken Kebabs can be cooked using three methods – Tawa cook, bake, or air fry. The tawa cook method is the recommended one, which is why we used that to test the kebabs.

How we made it – We took a few drops of oil in a heavy-bottomed tawa and cooked the chicken kebabs from both sides. After a few minutes, the kebabs started to plump up and we could see a light char on both sides. We did not thaw these kebabs.

Appearance – Like all ITC Master Chef Frozen Food, the shape and size of the chicken kebabs were extremely uniform. There were no broken pieces which is an excellent aspect when you think of serving these as party snacks. We could see a lot of black pepper, parsley, and a few bits of red capsicum and green capsicum.

Taste test – When we tasted these kebabs for the first time, the dominant flavor-hit is that of black pepper. The chicken flavor is very pleasing and the kebab is very juicy. The bits of onion and capsicum are very delicious. Even though we could see a lot of parsley, the flavor was missed. If you are having these kebabs on their own, the ‘pepperiness’ might seem on the higher side and you will need a mild dip to tone it down.

The ITC Master Chef Mediterranean Chicken Kebabs

This chicken kebab is extremely versatile and you can stuff it in a pita pocket or use it as a stuffing for a homemade roll with some pickled onions or even have it with a tandoori roti. If you are not a fan of pepper, we suggest you do not try these. But if you love the combination of pepper and chicken, this ITC Master Chef Kebab might become a staple in your pantry!

The range of snacks and starters by ITC Master Chef Frozen Food is vast. From Hara Bhara Kebabs and Rajmah Galoutis and delicious desi-flavors like vada pops to international flavors from the Mediterranean, the list is quite impressive.
