The celebration of the festival of colors is certainly not complete without those delicious Gujiyas. This sweet treat loaded with mawa and the richness of condiments is a crowd pleaser and relished with pure joy.
With Holi approaching, Team RevuER organized an engaging activity with a Fun Gujiya Reel Campaign. The campaign started from the 5th of March and ran until March 18. We were overwhelmed with the response received where each participant came up with an interesting Gujiya recipe. After receiving countless Gujiya reels, we finally shortlisted our top 3 winners.

About Holi Gujiya Reel Campaign | Participants | Start & End Date
First things first! What was this campaign all about? Team RevuER organized the Holi Gujiya Reel Campaign keeping in mind the upcoming Holi festival. This interactive campaign was a fun activity for all the community members connected to RevuER.
- The Holi Reel campaign kicked off from the 5th of March and ended on the 18th of March, 2024.
- All community members connected through RevuER were open to participate.
- All the participants were simply asked to showcase and prepare their unique version of the most loved Holi sweet ‘Gujiya’.
- As the campaign concluded, we chose our top 3 winners.
What Was Our Criteria To Select The Winners?
The crux of selecting the winner for our Gujiya reel was simple. At the conclusion of the campaign, we revealed the names of our top 3 winners. We followed a straightforward criteria for choosing the much-deserved winners. The following aspects were carefully observed to arrive at the final three winners:
- The quality of the final video should be good.
- All the shots of the video should be captured well and in proper lighting.
- The participant should personally prepare the recipe and showcase every aspect in the final video.
- The level of creativity and visual appeal of the final presentation.
- Lastly, if any creative ingredients or elements were added.
Who Emerged As The Winner? | What Did They Win?
After carefully assessing all the videos, we could finally select the 3 best ones. The names of the winners are :

- Jyotsna (@jyo_kitchenmania)
As a prize, each of our top three winners received a voucher worth Rs. 1000.
Top 3 Winner Detailed Recipes
This section highlights the details about the top 3 best gujiya recipes including – the ingredients used, the step by step recipe, and the accompanying reel videos.
1. Anumita Saxena Lakhara
Our first winner was Anumita Saxena Lakhraa’s guilt-free gujiya recipe. She tried preparing a healthy version of the gujiya by incorporating the use of whole wheat flour.

Recipe
- Start with kneading the dough by mixing all the required ingredients. Now slowly add the water to make a semi soft dough. Ensure that the dough is neither too soft nor too hard.
- Once the dough is prepared, start with the preparation of the filling by mixing all the ingredients and keep it aside.
- Now shape small balls from the dough and flatten them using the rolling pin to create small thin chapatis.
- For shaping the gujiya, you can either use a gujiya mold or follow the steps as shared in my reel.
- In order to tightly seal the gujiyas, mix dry whole wheat flour with some water to make a paste. Apply the paste along the edges to ensure the gujiyas are nicely packed.
- You can fry these gujiyas in two ways : In an air fryer or Deep-frying. To air fry, place the gujiyas in the air fryer for 15 min.
- For deep-frying, take oil in a pan, heat it and fry till they are golden brown.
2. Mehjabeen Mansuri
We loved Mehjabeen Mansuri gujiya recipe as it was unique and the final result looked quite appealing.

Recipe Details
- Start by preparing two different dough – one with food color and another without food color.
- Now roast the dry fruits and saffron in oil.
- Once done, roast the mawa and mix it with the dry fruits and saffron. After mixing all, add in the powdered sugar.
- Now roll both the dough separately, place them on one other and fold it together. Once folded, cut them into pieces.
- As the dough is ready, add the filling to each one and shape the gujiyas.
- Deep fry the gujiyas till they turn golden brown and crisp.
- Lastly, soak the fried gujiyas in sugar syrup along with some rose petals.
3. Jyotsna
The gujiya recipe by Jyotsna was our third favorite recipe wherein she had prepared mini pink color gujiyas.

Recipe
- The first step is to knead the dough. For this purpose, mix the maida, desi ghee and beetroot powder along with water as required to form a dough.
- For the filling, mix in roasted and powdered nuts along with roasted suji , a small amount of khoya and powdered sugar. If you are looking to prepare a vegan version, you can skip adding khoya.
- After resting the dough, roll them and prepare small, thin round circles.
- Now add the mixture of sweet nuts in between the circled dough, fold it and shape it.
- Now deep-fry the gujiyas until they turn golden brown in color.
- After deep-frying, soak the gujiya into warm sugar syrup.
Conclusion
After careful assessment and receiving so many reels from multiple participants, we chose Mehjabeen Mansuri, Anumita Saxena Lakhraa and Jyotsna as our top 3 winners. We extend our gratitude and appreciate the efforts of all the participants who invested their valuable time and participated in our Holi Gujiya Reel Campaign.
