Haldiram’s Mathri – Detailed Review

Haldiram’s Mathri’s detailed review talks about both the Mathri and Mixed Pickle:

Mathri –

Packed in a glossy pink pack, Haldiram’s Mathri comes with a delicious mixed pickle. On opening the pack, the gingery aroma was quite noticeable.

Appearance-wise, these mathris depict an uneven round shape. It comes close to a homestyle mathri. Coated with a dry masala powder, these are bite-sized mathris and not too thick. We could spot a lot of bishop seeds and fenugreek leaves on these mathris.

Texture-wise, the bite feels neither hard nor soft. These mathris are crisp! When we broke the mathri into two pieces, there was no greasiness in our hands. Thumbs up!

In terms of the taste, it hits the bullseye! These mathris showcase a delicious flavor of dried ginger and fenugreek leaves. The delicate spiciness in these mathris is appreciated.

Additionally, the flavor of bishop (ajwain) seeds coming through in between uplifts the overall taste.

Mixed Pickle –

The mixed pickle comes in a small plastic cup. Visually, we could see bits of carrots, green chilies, and mango.

The oil used in the pickle does not appear to be rancid. It tastes fresh.

Taste-wise, the pickle is perfectly spiced. It imparts a nice achaari flavor. We loved the tanginess of this mixed pickle.

The mathris tastes quite flavorful as it is. But the addition of the mixed pickle makes it tastier.
