Sunfeast’s Sattu Cardamom Biscuits Are Delish! #FirstImpressions

Sattu, mostly made using chana flour, is one of the healthiest flours to pick from amongst our heritage foods. It is full of essential nutrients and is luckily making a very fashionable comeback via a range of innovative products. Sattu-based dishes are quite popular amongst those who are new to this flour, and if you look around, you will find enough social media posts on innovative ways in which this flour can be used. Sunfeast’s Sattu Cardamom Biscuits caught our attention because you usually don’t see too many Indian flavors in cookies and biscuits. The product brings together two very desi flavors in a seemingly healthy cookie. Here is our #FirstImpressions review of Sunfeast’s Sattu Cardamom Biscuits.

#FirstImpressions Of Sunfeast’s Farmlite Active Sattu Cardamom Biscuits

Simply put, we loved Sunfeast’s Sattu Cardamom Biscuits. And, we bet you wouldn’t have tried a healthy cookie with flavors of cardamom this good!

The thing about cardamom is that it has a distinct taste, that can sometimes feel jarring if too much is added. That’s not the case here.

There’s a nice balance of cardamom and Bengal gram. As the most used ingredient, chana-sattu, makes its presence felt in every bite. The elaichi comes later in the bite; it’s bold but doesn’t seem out of place. In fact, towards the end, it almost tastes like besan ki barfi! Yes, you heard that right. Besan ki barfi, but without the ghee and oiliness of a mithai.

The texture is perfect too. It is fibrous, as one would expect, but not dry. The cookies are soft and crunchy, at the same time.

Calorie-wise, these are fairly balanced too. A couple of cookies roughly add 90 calories to your daily intake. Taste-wise, these are probably the best cardamom cookies available right now. The balance of flavors and just how beautifully the sattu and cardamom come together is what makes this a delicious treat.

Update – Sunfeast’s Sattu Cardamom Biscuits are also available with a different packaging labeled as ‘Protein Power’.
