Summary

English Oven Choco Bunfills were a hit in terms of flavor and texture. But the quantity of chocolate filling was fairly low which affected the overall experience.

Chocolate makes everything better. Celebrations, a bad day, bread, oats, nuts- add chocolate, add smiles.

A new entrant in the snacks section is the Choco Bunfills by English Oven. We ordered a pack from an online grocery portal for our English Oven Bunfills review. In this review, we discuss the flavors, textures, freshness, and more.

Does this make for an indulgent snack?

Our Review Factors

1. Taste

The bun and the chocolate filling- how do these two components taste individually? Did they taste fresh? Was the sweetness balanced or overwhelming? Was the bun sweetened too?

2. Texture

How was the bun? Was it flaky? Or was it soft and fluffy? What about the choco filling- gooey or lumpy? How is the balance between the chocolate filling and the bun?

3. Other Parameters

The price, packaging, shelf life and other non-tasting parameters were taken into account here.

Aroma + Appearance

The bun was palm-sized and looked well-baked as it was fluffy. It had a golden brown appearance like baked products usually do. We sliced the bun to gauge the filling. It was a decadent, chocolatey brown hue.

It did not have a prominent aroma but there were no off-putting smells either.

It comes in an eye-catchy packing.
Fluffy and well-baked.
The filling was gooey.

Taste + Texture

Though the bread (bun) was soft, it felt dry. It wasn’t dense or heavy, just slightly dry. The centre cream was gooey and smooth.

In terms of taste, the bun tasted fresh. It was slight sweet. The chocolate filling featured balanced sweetness and the overall flavor worked well with the bread.

However, the ratio of bun to filling was fairly disappointing. There were some bites that had absolutely no filling. Some more creme would have made this way better.
