Mishry Rating
Summary
Bebe Burp cookies made some bold claims and delivered on almost all of them. Both taste and texture are ideal for toddlers and young kids. After scanning the ingredient list and nutrition values, we can say these are suitable for occasional, on-the-go consumption. The pack does not mention their organic certifications, which should have been there.
Grandma-inspired recipes with minimal processing and no added preservatives or sugar. Sounds impressive right? Bebe Burp was created when the founders realized the lack of ‘healthy food’ options for babies. Calling it the need of the hour, they developed snacks for toddlers that don’t claim to be just nutritious but also super convenient for mums.
In our Bebe Burp cookies review, we ordered three variants- Oats and Raisin, Whole Wheat and Banana, and Ragi cookies, to find whether or not they deliver on the claims.
Are these cookies truly kid-friendly snacks?

Our Review Factors
While reviewing Bebe Burp cookies, we focused on finding out how truly healthy/safe these snacks are for little ones. The ingredients used, whether or not these would meet the caloric requirements, and support the growth and development of young ones were the core parameters.
Are these cookies all convenience, no nutrition?
1. Taste
Children are the most honest critics, albeit inexperienced. And every mother would agree with this when their bowl of mashed fruit is being splattered on their face by the child.
Keeping that in mind, are these cookies tasty? Could we make out the ingredients individually? Did the cookies retain the natural sweetness of bananas and raisins? Did they feature the nutty flavors of ragi?
Overall, are the cookies palatable enough for 8+ month infants and toddlers?
2. Texture
‘Easy to chew with soft texture and quickly dissolves in the mouth’, says the pack. What is the texture of these ‘ghee-made’ cookies like? Are these soft, crumbly, or chewy? Owing to the fact that the target audience can be toothless as well, do they actually dissolve in the mouth?
3. Nutritional Quotient
Main Ingredients
Does the brand mention the quality and quantity of ingredients used? Are the ingredients nutrient-dense? Would a pediatrician recommend these ingredients in a toddler’s diet?
Calories
Do these support the growth and development of those over eight months of age? Offered as snacks to toddlers, do these fulfill the caloric requirements?
ICMR recommends 100-120 Kcal/kg/day for babies from 0-1 years of age. This means an eight-nine-month-old baby (weighing 8-9 kg on average) would require 880-990 Kcal daily.
4. Other Parameters
Packaging
Does the packaging retain freshness? Is it travel-friendly?
Appearance
How do the cookies look? Are ingredients blended in or added as toppings? Broken pieces?
Convenience
Hunger pang strikes on the way- will these cookies satiate your little one till their next meal?
Price
Economically priced or competitively? Would packing a home-cooked meal be the better option in the long run
Shelf Life
These cookies have a shelf life of six months from the date of manufacture. Once opened these need to be consumed within 3 weeks.
Bebe Burp Cookies Flavours – Detailed Review
All our findings are discussed in this section of the review. But first, here are a few things that are common amongst all three variants –
- The packaging across variants is identical.
- The cookies are placed in a tray sealed with a see-through sheet (3-ply foil bag).
- This sealed tray is then placed inside a sturdy carton that is environment-friendly.
- The brand recommends transferring the contents to an air-tight container when the box is opened and consumed within three weeks.
- The brand does not specify the laboratory/organization that certified it organic, just a QC (quality control) sticker. It has a small sticky on the side that says ‘Made with organic and natural ingredients. No other details or certifications here. Their website mentions how they use 24 Organic Mantra products certified as per Indian, US, and European organic standards by Jaivik Bharat, India Organic, USDA Organic, and Non-EU Agriculture. So the fact that the actual box does not provide information on the certifications is something that the brand can improve.
- The brand promises the nutritious goodness of one chapati with just two cookies. But is that so? Well, roughly the same is what we observed. A 20-gram roti provides 81-85 Kcal, whereas a 20-gram serving (two cookies) offers 92 Kcal. The carb content in these cookies (12.16 grams) is marginally higher than a roti(10 grams), and the protein value is lower. (roti- 2 grams, Bebe Burp- 1.38 grams)

1. Oats and Raisins
A tray holds the cookies which were wrapped with a transparent sheet. We liked how informative the carton is- all relevant details were mentioned. Our pack held 18 unbroken, thick cookies. This variant is called Oats and Raisins, but we couldn’t see any raisins. Though this would have been a drawback otherwise, this is perfect for such a product as blended raisins would prevent choking.
The main ingredients are organic oats flour (20%), organic whole wheat flour (30%), raisins, cow ghee, jaggery, brown sugar, milk, cardamom, and INS 500 ii.
Organic Whole Wheat- Whole wheat is a good source of carbohydrates and fiber. One must ensure the child does not have gluten intolerance/insensitivity.
Organic oats- Oats, a high-volume food, have a low gluten content but are high in fiber and antioxidants. Known to blend well with other foods, oats are rich in magnesium, iron, and zinc which in turn helps build a healthy immune system and metabolism.
Raisins- Raisins are a great source of magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, and iron. It is a naturally sweet, low-fat source of energy.
Cow Ghee- Ghee is one of the healthiest fat sources. Rich in vitamins A and E, ghee is almost 50% saturated fat, which is also naturally found in breast milk.
Jaggery- Jaggery is a plant-based sweetener that has more nutrients than refined sugar. In addition to being an exceptional source of energy, jaggery provides iron that helps generate red blood cells.
Brown Sugar- This is the second sweetener used. Brown sugar, too, is healthier than white as the former contains micronutrients like magnesium, potassium, iron, phosphorus, and calcium that are beneficial for overall growth and development.
Milk- Milk is one of the few food items that showcase balanced proportions of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins. They are known to support healthy bones.
Cardamom- Cardamom has commendable anti-inflammatory properties that may help the baby fight colds, flu, and related symptoms.
INS 500 ii- Popularly known as baking soda/sodium bicarbonate, INS 500 ii is used as a raising agent in baked products. Sodium is naturally found in eggs, breast milk, meat, etc. Though it is generally safe, sodium must be given in moderation.
Unlike regular cookies, the Oats and Raisins variant had a fibrous texture. That said, they were soft and easy to chew, like the other variants we reviewed from the range. As mentioned above, the raisins cannot be seen which eliminates the risk of choking.
These emit a desirable earthy, naturally sweet aroma. A common observation across variants was their low sweetness. That said, this was the sweetest amongst the three we tasted. The flavor profile was dominated by that of whole wheat and oats. Though oats are quite bland, the slightly earthy flavor they have was tasted in these cookies. The flavor of cardamom was barely there.
As per FSSAI’s guidelines – ‘The name of ingredients used in the product shall be listed in descending order of their composition by weight or volume, as the case may be at the time of its manufacture.’ The Bebe Burp Oats And Raisins Cookies mention the use of oats flour (20%) before whole wheat which is used in a larger quantity (30%).
- This has no preservatives or added sugar.
- The cookies are made with genuinely healthy ingredients.
- The texture is ideal for babies and toddlers. If your child does not have teeth yet, crumbling them within your fingers would be ideal. If they do, these cookies dissolve in your mouth very easily.
- They are not overly sweet.
- These make for perfect on-the-go snacks for those over eight months of age.
- Since these cookies are called ‘Oats and Raisins’, the oats flour content could have been higher than whole wheat.
- There is no specified organic certification.
Goodness of granny-trusted ingredients in a cookie. Bebe Burp is something you ought to try if you have a 8+ month infant or toddler at home who needs something handy for occasional snacking.
2. Ragi Cookies
Despite being packed similarly, 1-2 cookies were broken here. The appearance comes quite close to the first variant- thick with a home-baked look.
The Ragi cookies are made using organic Ragi flour (32%), organic whole wheat flour (18%), cow ghee, jaggery, brown sugar, milk, cardamom, and INS 500 ii.
Ragi flour- Ragi, a grandma-recommended millet, is a superfood in the true sense. Rich in fiber and amino acids, ragi is a remarkable source of plant-based protein. This millet also offers calcium, fiber, and Vitamin D. Moreover, ragi does not have gluten and is low in fat.
The ragi cookies were relatively softer. These break easily and would be fairly easy to chew by toddlers/young kids.
Though the cookies are prepared with two sweeteners, they do not taste as sweet. They taste fresh and are devoid of artificial/industrial flavors. The characteristic earthy, nutty taste of Ragi could be tasted.
- Same as above
- We tasted fresh and natural flavors.
- A few pieces were broken.
- The pack does not specify its organic certification.
Need a switch from the classic ragi porridge? These Ragi cookies must be considered as a carry-on snack.
3. Whole Wheat and Banana
The packaging is similar to the other two variants we reviewed from this range. The only difference is this variant is wrapped with a sheet of silver foil.
The cookies are round and thick with an uneven surface. Slightly larger than a coin, the cookies look very homestyle.
These cookies are made with organic whole wheat (50%), cow ghee, jaggery, brown sugar, milk, freeze-dried banana powder, cardamom, and INS 500 ii.
Dehydrating fruits is a common technique to enhance shelf life and use them year-round. However, freeze-drying is not the same as dehydrating, and is, in fact, a better alternative. While using a dehydrator kills essential nutrients and vitamins, freeze-drying retains up to 90% of the nutritional content.
Freeze-dried banana powder- Bananas are rich in potassium which helps manage sodium levels in the system. They are also a great source of carbohydrates and fiber which promote healthy bowel movements.
Texture-wise, the cookies are quite easy to break. These are soft and chewing does not require much effort.
Absolutely no industrial taste! This is remarkable. These were minimally sweet but the cardamom flavor was barely there. The star ingredient, flavor-wise, is banana. The aroma and taste of this fruit are highlighted along with whole wheat.
- Same as above
- These featured a desirable aroma.
- No mention of the organic certifications on the pack.
- One serving of these cookies has more fat and less protein than a whole wheat roti.
