Our Review Factors

Taste, texture, and overall convenience were the parameters we set when reviewing Aashirvaad Instant Paneer Paratha.

1. Taste

Did the paneer taste fresh? Was the stuffing seasoned well? How did the paratha taste, were there any synthetic flavors observed?

Any undesirable aftertaste?

2. Texture

Was the paneer soft and creamy or was the stuffing hard to chew? What about the paratha, light and flaky or dense and dry? Is the proportion of the paratha and stuffing apt?

3. Other Parameters

Here we gauged the convenience, the price point, and scanned the nutrition labels.

Aashirvaad Paneer Paratha – Detailed Review

Price + Packaging

These come in a resealable pouch. There were four parathas inside, each separated with a layer of paper. One paratha weighs 100 grams, the total quantity was 400 grams with a shelf life of 24 months.

Main Ingredients

Wheat flour (atta), Paneer (35.6%), water, vegetable (onion, green chilli, ginger), ghee, refined corn oil, mixed spices (coriander leaves (2.5%), cumin, and red chilli), dehydrated potatoes, iodised salt, sugar, wheat gluten and emulsifier (mono and di-glycerides of fatty acids from palm oil)

Flavoring agents used include wheat and milk.

How we made it

Following the instructions mentioned on the pack, we placed one on a pre-heated non-stick pan. Without adding any additional oil/ghee for cooking, we let the paratha cook on a medium heat for two minutes and applied gentle pressure. Both sides were cooked until the surface turned golden brown.

To enhance taste, you can serve with butter or ghee once served.

We served it with salted butter.

Taste + Texture

The texture of the paratha was way better than that of the stuffing. The paratha was light, crisp, and flaky. It didn’t feel doughy and the thickness was ideal. On the other hand, the stuffing was barely there. Thumbs down for the stuffing to paratha ratio, it was disappointing.

As for the taste, everything had a fresh taste, there were synthetic flavors or any undesirable aftertaste either. The seasoning was in place (salt and spices) but owing to the low quantity, it didn’t fare well in our review.

One 100-gram paratha offers 323 Kcal with 27.5 grams of carbohydrates, 18.9 grams of fat, and 10.6 grams of protein. These values are fairly decent.

We are scoring it low on taste not because the masala was not tasty enough, but because it was so less that the whole point of it being a stuffed paratha was lost. Plus whatever little the stuffing was, it wasn’t strikingly remarkable and the texture was slightly dry as well.

This cooked up well.
While the flavors were fresh, the quantity of stuffing wasn't satifactory.

Best Suited For

If you’re looking for a quick and convenient carbohydrate source for your office meals, Aashirvaad Paneer Paratha is a ‘heat and eat’ option. That said, ensure you have some side dish to enhance flavors as the stuffing is barely there.
